About Us

My Story

Hi. I'm Ketaki. I was born and brought up in Delhi and I love helping people discover my city. I want them to have the best experience since for many of my guests, this is a once in a lifetime trip. I’m well traveled within and outside India & have shopped everywhere. I have also lived in San Francisco, California for 2 years and even went to school in Swansea,UK when I was little. I have an MBA in Marketing and have also worked with the Taj group of hotels. Generations of my family have lived in Delhi. I have been helping people maximize their shopping experience in Delhi for the last 10 years. Being a “Delhi-ite” I’ve cultivated strong relationships with multiple shop owners and family run businesses off the beaten path. I can help you find the best deals and find exclusive goods in Delhi bazaars. I have also assisted tourists in getting custom made outfits in a short span of time. People want to go to somewhere that tourists don’t necessarily go to – and to have someone explain what it is that they are seeing and why things are the way they are. I do that. Please feel free to write to me if you need more information.

Our Mission

Make our guest fall in love with Delhi

Here is a quick Q&A with me:

How long have you been in Delhi?

I was born and brought up in Delhi. Other than the short stint in the USA, I’ve spent my life here. My parents moved to Delhi from Allahabad once they started working. My husband and two kids were also born in Delhi. My husband’s family has lived in Delhi for generations. Our ancestral home is still in old Delhi.

    Where have you traveled?

I’ve traveled to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, USA, UK, Nepal, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Greece & Turkey. More recently I’ve been to Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Why did you start the tour?

It’s not a tour, it’s a customized experience which includes local sights, food, flavors and cultural commentary. We cover everything from saffron to sheets from tamarind to tapestries and from peppercorns to pashminas. I started the tour because I wanted guests to have a hassle free experience in Delhi. I want them to see things that they might never be able to find on their own. Most tourists get taken to shops and sights that offer commissions to tour providers. I provide an entirely independent tour, tailored to my guests’ preferences and I do not have any financial interest in the shops or markets that we visit. Through my tour, I really want to show guests everything Delhi has to offer and share stories that provide a cultural context to their experience of shopping in Delhi. For example, why is Chandni Chowk the way it is? How has our history influenced our people? Such stories really enrich your experience as a tourist in Delhi.

What are you looking for when you travel?

When I travel, I don’t want a “microwave-able” experience. There are things I care about and I want my experience to revolve around my needs. When people come to Delhi, I want them to have a unique experience rather than take cookie cutter tours, which is what 99% of tourists do when they are in Delhi

What do you enjoy about doing the tour?

I love the relationships I form with my guests. I get a kick out of helping guests to see Delhi in a unique way. Guests also help me see Delhi from their perspective, which is always interesting and enlightening. I love my city and it’s frustrating when people miss the forest on account of the trees and prioritise sights over experiences.

How would you describe what the tour will do for me?

I’d rather have my customers tell you what they think of the tour.
