What to do in Munnar

Frankly for us, Munnar town was a disappointment. However Eravikular was amazing and easy to get to from Munnar. If possible, I would love to stay at a bed and breakfast in Eravikular instead of the KTDC resort Tea County in Munnar.

Avoid Munnar market. Its much better to leave for Rajamalai or the Eravikulam national park as soon as possible.

Eravikulam national park. Misty mountains in Rajamalai best seen as hike in the eravikulam national park. It is a beautiful part of the world. Mountains, mist, tea gardens and endangered animals.

What to do in Thekkady

Here are the only three things you need to do to enjoy nature:

  1. Periyar national park
  2. Elephant Junction
  3. Spice plantations

What to do in Kumarakom

  1. Relax
  2. See the backwaters in a boat
  3. Get an ayurvedic treatment
  4. Watch a kathakali performance
  5. Watch the sunset on the vembanad lake.
  6. Between August and September, see the nehru trophy boat race
  7. Stay on a houseboat if you must. We don’t recommend it.
